Well, the 3rd year begins and with it new excitement and some hopes of studying… well new room… new wing… more studies… more fun… this is going to be an awesome year. I just hope that some really nice juniors come… so that we can maintain the 3-1 trend of relationships in BITS. Me to just waiting to start off another sem coz I am bored sitting at home

Well some more hangout places and must visit places in Hyderabad…

1. The Chocolate Room (opp. Madhapur Police Station)
They serve everything you can think of made from chocolate. Nice ambience, and crowd.

2. The Salarjung Museum (Afzulgunj)

3. The Birla Mandir (Kali Pahadi)

4. Ohri’s (Banjara Hills)
go for ohri’s gufa. Has one of the best ice creams i ever had.

5. Karachi Bakery (Abids, Banjara Hilla, Afzulgunj)
Best biscuits you’ll ever eat.

6. Sportsbar (Madhapur)
Go and Watch a final u’ll enjoy it more than anything else. Buy a mocktail along with it and u’ll remember the match. Entry is free.

7. Husein Sagar Lake

8. Secret Lake (Jubilee Hill’s)
No secret’s in here just couples place.

9. Golconda Fort(near Mehdipatnam and Toli Chowki)
Fort is pretty well maintained. These people organize a sound and lights show in the evening and that’s a must watch for everyone. But go on a day when it’s not raining and when it’s not sunny either.

10. Ramoji Film City (Near Dilsukhnagar)
Supposedly the largest film city spread around in about 2000 acres. It’s a nice place to visit and a must visit.

can’t think of anything else… Charminar and other places are obviouly there and everyone knows about it.

Something odd…

Ya it’s odd for me, say write something of my own and that too a poem… for god’s sake what happened to me??? I wonder why most of the people who have a blog and those who try to write their feeling’s end up writing something like this… but why me… anyways… it’s just a poem I thought of while I was travelling in the bus today…bear me for any mistakes and it’s not a proper poetry so I would like you not to compare it to any of them.

Wtf? What is with these people?

It’s not a new thing to say it again. God knows when people in these Indian cities (particularly Hyderabad) know, actually follow and implement, the traffic rules and traffic sense. Everywhere, from gallies (streets) to main roads, they can’t help themselves forming parallel lines on. It’s so disgusting, so annoying. It includes, city buses, four wheelers and two wheelers.

I think the traffic discipline is just missing here … people driving on the wrong side, changing lanes without indicator or even without glancing in the rear view mirror, and jumping red lights all the time — and all this right in front of impotent traffic policemen, who don’t enforce any rules. Even the buses won’t stop at bus stops, you have to get on and off while they are running.

Can you imagine vehicles taking U-turn on fly overs? And how about two-wheelers being lifted on the road dividers to cross-over to the other side? It really is pathetic! WTF?? At least leave the footpaths for walking… always honking for no reason as if they like the sound and moreover if you have to cross the road you can’t say when someone will hit you because they won’t stop. It doesn’t matter to them if you are a old man or a girl or a child…

And finally, if one reaches the destination doing all that bad-driving, he/she has nothing so important that demands them to be like that on the road, at least I can say 90% of them have no so important things that might affect if they were a little late say, 30 minutes or so.

Essentially it seems to me that people in Hyderabad aren’t ready for the kind of expansion this city is experiencing. It is aspiring to become a metro, but people are still stuck with a small-town mentality — at least as far as driving style is concerned. Nobody cares about this thing. Fortunately Hyderabad have wide roads if you compare with the rest of the cities, and they still muddle with the traffic problems, because of this attitude problem.

I am really sick of this city and one of the reason is it’s traffic.

Federer after winning Wimbledon

Guys it’s all over the news, all over media everywhere but still i want to post this… FEDERER WON and is again the world’s best. I don’t know how many of you follow Federer anymore but I do. And boy, what a match it was ! !!!

He also made a record of winning the maximum grand slam titles beating Pete Sampras who won 14 grand slams.

Roger Vs Pete
Sampras took 12 years to win 14 Grand Slams
Federer has taken 6 years to win 15

But I still believe that he will be winning many more titles and retire only after setting an unreachable target for the new players.

Well, right now I am in Hyderabad on my summer training. But it as expected no work except exploring the city of lakes, pearls, kababs and biryani. So the training is about to get over in 2 weeks time and so are we about to finish exploring the city and it’s hangout zones. We enjoyed a lot for the last 45 days here, had some amazing experiences, and bla bla bla… coming to the point ” THE HANGOUT ZONES”

Gaming Zones

1. Alligator (near Secunderabad clock tower) It’s a bowling alley with nice crowd

2. Runway 9 (in Kompally) Has a lot of sports: go karting, snooker n pool, archery, rock climbing and many more… Go Karting is the major attraction.

3. Knock 10 (MPM, Abids) A decent and good gaming and bowling parlor in Hyderabad

4. Secundrabad Club (S’dbad) If you are a member, this is the coolest place you could have ever imagined! If you are not than try finding someone who is a member and go with him as a guest.

Cafe’s

1. Mochas Cafe (Banjara Hills road no.1) The place has got everything going ambience, the food, the coffee, crowd, and location. It’s just the price, which is slightly on the higher side. Should try Hookah if you smoke and Cool California.

2. My Cafe Latte (Jubilee Hills) One of the best entrances (Pirates of Carribean) nice ambience and try out veg cutlets there… really good… Has hookah if you smoke. For those who just want to look at some fishes in the pond… the above 2 places are the best.

3. Minerva Coffee Shop (Himayatnagar and Somajiguda) One of the good restaurants with Good food and great service.

4. Mzuri Sana (Jubliee Hills) One of the consequences of the new coffee culture in India. It has a laid back feel about it… perfect to spend a few hours with friends. The hookah and coffee are not bad either.

5. Eat Street(Necklace Road) Great concept to have your favourite fast food besides the lake, and a road passing through it! Wow! Has everything from CCD to Pizza hut inside. 6. Ohri’s (Banjara Hills) One of the favorite eat out’s, they’ve got a pretty good buffet. One of the few places in Hyderabad which is open well after midnight. And the best ice cream you’ll ever eat. Try going to Ohri’s Gufa.

Bars and Pubs

1. 10 Downing Street(Begumpet, lifestyle building) The swankiest pub in town, this is one of the most happening places! the food’s great and so is the crowd, which includes page-3 personalities on Ladies nights(wednesday’s) and weekends. A must try! Most of the times the entry is free so even if you don’t drink you can have the awesome food. Go for continental.

2. Bottles and Chimneys (Begumpet) Among the top pubs in town and has special attractions like their rock shows and celebrity DJs.

3. Firangi Paani (City Center) has some entry fees but it’s place worth a visit if you are into drinking. Has got really good ambience.

I have always been fascinated by wines although I haven’t had any alcoholic drinks yet. Still I somehow feel that wines says a lot about your lifestyle, about the luxurious life you have. Of course the brands are important but for a lamen brands doesn’t matter, he’ll think that you are wealthy if you just have a glass of red wine in your hand. It’s just another way to show off. Still I was googling around searching about wines where I came across the list of World’s Top 100 bar’s.

Long time…

It’s been a long time since I posted anything on the blog. You may say I am not much into writing. Today also I somehow remembered that I have a blog so I thought why not check it out… At this point of time I guess I’ll be the only useless and the most idle person having nothing else to do other than writing a blog. After all who has a job to do on their training anyways. Anyways this time I won’t say anything like “I’ll keep you posted on this” or “be back to check out more on this space” because I know there are a lot of much more interesting things to do other than reading a blog (If not a lot to do than at least a lot to see is there)

After exam comments…

Sorry people I couldn’t write for so long because I had my comprehensives going on. And if you have come across any engineering student then you must be knowing how it is just before the exams . Well there’s no point in telling how the exams went but I do want to list the after exam comments.

Some comments on how the ES (Electrical Sciences) exam went were pretty common. I’ll state a few here…

Eshwar: With or without a condom?
Krishnan: Let’s go to police station, complaint likhwani hai rape ki.
Diwakar: Don’t ask.
Jayesh: Thuki be…Gande wali thuki.
Mandu: as usual no comments. (he’s getting a ZUK)
Dominick: Dude! I got fucked.
Manku: Invents some new song or some new shit after screwing his exam. This time too he did but its not possible to write it here.
Udit: I’ll get some 30-40 on 120. (which means his exam went really good and he will be getting some 60 odd marks)

Well these are my wingies but the comments from others were not so different. So you can very well imagine how the exam was but the next day everything was normal. No one cared about grades or anything and each one of us is enjoying the little break of 4 days that we got.
